Summary Of NOT NICE
STOP BEING SO NICE! Note to Readers: This is a summary and analysis book based on Not Nice: Stop People Pleasing, Staying Silent, & Feeling Guilty... And Start Speaking Up, Saying No, Asking Boldly, And Unapologetically Being Yourself by Dr Aziz Gazipura PsyD. This is meant to enhance your original reading experience, not supplement it. We strongly encourage you to purchase the original book here: https: //amzn.to/2BnUu6k With love, Dr. Aziz Gazipura embarks in this narrative to help those who are suffering under the guise of "niceness" to break out of their shell and begin being Not Nice. Throughout, Dr. Gazipura analyzes the processes that go into being nice, and how some of these processes end up costing us our autonomy, power, and happiness. We lost out on connecting with those we love if we continue to be afraid of disapproval. In fact, in this work there is the common theme of facing fear, and greeting our more unsavory feelings or characteristics with love and patience, as opposed to self-hate and criticism. Excited to help us on our journey, Dr. Gazipura outlines the ways in which we can learn to become freer, which include analyzing what is going on inside of ourselves every time we find ourselves over-analyzing an interaction we may have had where we perceived ourselves as being "not nice." Usually, as we learn, this is because we are afraid to ask for what it is we truly want. Most of us, in fact, are prone to only asking for what we want when we think someone else wants it too. That said, Dr. Gazipura is here to help. By outlining many of the subconscious patterns we've picked up throughout our lives, and underlining some of the flaws in those types of thinking, he teaches readers how to analyze their own sets of thinking to shift where they are now to where they could be soon. Again, by facing these parts of ourselves with love and affection, and by translating anger into assertiveness, we can begin to take control in our lives. There is confidence waiting just around the corner. All in all, this book is about Power. It's about finding the power to be the authority. It's about believing in yourself the way Dr. Gazipura does throughout his book. It's about learning how to speak up, ask for what you want, and live authentically so we may better connect with those around us. What he has found, and what readers ultimately find, is that they have been hiding themselves beneath a shroud of niceness and comfort. The only way to break through is to do just that, break through. Through the discomfort, disapproval, and fear. If we do so, we might not be able to recognize ourselves! We will become those who we admire. And that is as powerful as it gets. In this detailed review of Not Nice, you'll enjoy: 1. A thorough chapter-by-chapter analysis pertaining to Dr. Aziz's interesting and mind-opening work. 2. Discussion questions that will make you think ever more about what you've just read. 3. Stop Fear from Stopping You
A guide to overcoming your fears so you can make decisions with confidence, conquer obstacles, and go after what really matters. Author of the bestselling motivational book Stop Anxiety from Stopping You, Dr. Helen Odessky describes what she has learned in fifteen years of helping people face their fears. Learn to face your fears and attain greater opportunities in your relationships, career, and life. Sometimes fear can be helpful. A few years ago, Dr. Helen Odessky, licensed clinical psychologist, anxiety expert, and speaker, found herself part of a minor fender-bender on a major interstate. Looking back at her daughter, she feared that if another car hit them, her daughter’s life would be in danger. A few minutes after retreating to another car in a safer location, an 18-wheeler barreled into her car and demolished it. Her fear saved both her daughter's life and her own. Stop Fear from Stopping You is about a different type of fear—the fear that is so prevalent that it often lies dormant—destroying dreams, career paths and relationships. Bad fear creates stories that cushion us from potential pain and failure—at the cost of our self-esteem, success, and personal happiness. Because fear is complex, we cannot afford merely to be fearless. Just “letting go” is not the answer. The real solution lies in learning to become fear-wise. In this inspirational book, Dr. Helen shows you how to harness the wisdom behind your fears and break through the barriers that block your success. Praise for Stop Fear from Stopping You “In such uncertain times, I’m grateful that Dr. Odessky has come out with this new book to help you tame your fears and live a fuller, calmer life where you are able to handle whatever comes your way. Join the thousands of others her words have helped and decide to take control. Start today. Start now.” —Dr. John Duffy, author of Parenting the New Teen in the Age of Anxiety “As an anxiety treatment specialist, I am always looking for tools and techniques to move my clients compassionately and effectively through panic and other forms of anxiety. This book offers practical, evidence-based exercises to assist anxiety sufferers in freeing themselves from the devastating symptoms of untreated anxiety. I recommend this book to anyone looking for actionable steps that they can take to teach anxiety to back off and quiet down.” —Debra Kissen, PhD, MHSA, clinical director of Light on Anxiety Treatment Center and author of The Panic Workbook for Teens

Music Business Careers
The music industry offers the opportunity to pursue a career as either a creative (artist, producer, songwriter, etc.) or as a music business "logician" (artist manager, agent, entertainment attorney, venue manager, etc.). Though both vocational paths are integral to the industry’s success, the work of calling songs into existence or entertaining an audience differs from the administrative aspects of the business, such as operating an entertainment company. And while the daily activities of creatives may differ from those of the music business logician, the music industry careerist may sense a call to Career Duality, to work on both sides of the industry as a Career Dualist, a concept this book introduces, defines, and explores in the context of the music industry. This new volume speaks to the dilemma experienced by those struggling with career decisions involving whether to work in the industry using their analytical abilities, or to work as a creative, or to do both. The potential financial challenges encountered in working in the industry as an emerging artist may necessitate maintaining a second and simultaneous occupation (possibly outside the industry) that offers economic survival. However, this is not Career Duality. Likewise, attending to the business affairs that impact all creatives is not Career Duality. Rather, Career Duality involves the deliberate pursuit of a dual career as both a music industry creative and music business logician, which is stimulated by the drive to express dual proclivities that are simultaneously artistic and analytical. By offering a Career Duality model and other constructs, examining research on careers, calling, authenticity and related concepts, and providing profiles of music industry dualists, this book takes readers on a journey of self-exploration and offers insights and recommendations for charting an authentic career path. This is a practical examination for not only music industry professionals and the entertainment industry, but for individuals interested in expressing both the analytical and artistic self in the context of career.

The Warrior Challenge
A revolutionary and must-have book for boys! This action-packed, illustrated guide teaches boys to develop much-needed skills around empathy and vulnerability as they grow into self-aware, wonderful men. Share with fans of The Manual to Manhood, Boying Up, and The Dangerous Book for Boys. How do we raise "good sons" during this difficult time? Traits we've always considered masculine--like being tough and not showing emotion--are no longer what we want for our boys. Especially when society most needs unity, empathy, and the understanding that all humans are created equal. As we try to raise caring, thoughtful, respectful young men, this book will lead the pack, teaching them, in a language they will understand, that emotional honesty is the epitome of bravery and that the toughest of the tough are those who raise their voices to uplift and support those most in need. Unlike any book out there, The Warrior Challenge will capture readers with its epic and engrossing stories about courageous men across history, real-life examples of modern manhood, and straight-talking messages about compassion and authenticity. Author, mountain climber, and professional speaker John Beede disproves the "boys will be boys" mentality and encourages boys to be, above all, good humans.
